Inspiration - Rebellion of the machines' CB750

Found this neat CB750 last time wandering on BikeExif ... again. At the time of writing this post, Rebellion of the machines' website is still under construction, but I guess it's better they focus on this type of build rather than waste their time on creating a website.

Royal Enfield Cafe Racer

Sooner this year Royal Enfield revealed a new bike which will complete their range alongside the Bullet. A stock cafe racer ? Brilliant ! Hey look, it even reads Öhlins on the rear shock.

The Indian-based factory has not said whether or not they will be importing this new model to the UK. Don't even mention the rest of Europe ...

Bare Guzzi

Half tracker half café this bare Guzzi is, to me, one of the cleanest build on the Internet today.

If you ever come across some other pics or know the builder, please point these out to me as I only know of the one above.

Update : again, Yvan has proved himself very useful, by providing the link to this beauty's story using Tineye. Check it out there. Technology saved us once again ...

Miob's bikes

I've just come to realize I haven't pointed you out yet to this great website : Miob's bike. This kind dutch man buys cheap classic bikes and restores them as tasteful Cafe Racers. And he does that on his own on his spare time !

Plus he has built one of the finest BMW Cafe Racers out there. One I would really love to give it a try ;)

By popular demand

I remember having posted some time ago a picture of the French 1200 GSF Bandit that got a cool Cafe Racer treatment. While I was wandering around the web this afternoon, I found this one on the Blood Falcons blog. And since I'm getting a lot of requests for Cafe Racer Bandits, I thought this would satisfy some of you.
I've never been a big fan of Bandits, even though I can understand why one would want one, and most of the Cafe Racer converstion attempts end up badly, but this one caught my eye. Maybe it's the color scheme or the way it's pictured.

AMD championship

I have to admit that I've always looked at the AMD chamionship as yet another cruiser contest where admitance was limited to fat moustache large tatooed arms beer drinkers.
Well I changed my mind and it can only mean two things : I'm getting older and as the years past on, I've become a cruiser fan. This simple idea is still frightening me, so even if it's probably partially true, this can't be the main reason.

The reason why I changed my mind about the AMD championship is without a doubt because of last year's competitors list. Here are some of the bikes that were battling there to win the prize in 2009. Look at these hand made motorcycles and dare to tell me you're just simply not impressed.
Ok I know, some of the bikes in the competitors list are still the ugliest in the world (check the whole list here), but hey that makes the others even greater.

Caiman show part 2

How time's fleeing sometimes ... I remember promising to post the second part of my picture coverage of the last Caiman show in Croix like it was yesterday. But it's been more than a month now and it's not online yet. Hopefully, there are still some highly motivated guys that will always remind me to post pictures. So here they are :

The last two ones are a great opportunity to push my own special reminder to a friend. Yvan do you remember you're having a KR1S rusting in your garage ? Don't waste too much time in your home's improvement ... and go back to a real project !! :D
Having said that, I may add a little more pressure by expecting you're getting close to this result with your bike ;)

It smells oil and it's a bit rusty but ...

... damn how good it is. Back in mid september I went to the Croix-en-ternois circuit to attend to the anual CAIMAN meeting with a mate of mine. It's nothing far from a conventional trackday but one only sees old riders on sometimes even older bikes. The bike range was great as it's always nice to see all of these old motorcycles in one place. And for once in Croix, the weather was sunny-not-windy, which is rather rare down there.

Here are a couple of pics from the event (this is only part 1). Enjoy !
